Make / Effects & techniques
A still image. A moving texture.
Animate ink registration, color or contrast over your still artwork. Preview a repeating effect in your browser, then use Pro to export a silent WebM loop.
Remix this example ↗Make this look in three steps
- Open the poster in the animation panel, or upload your own still and choose Animate image.
- Select the motion, set its strength and choose a 3- or 6-second loop. Press Play preview to compare the movement.
- With Pro, select Export loop and keep the tab visible until recording completes. Download the completed WebM. Cancel discards an unfinished recording.
What moves?
The source image stays still. Make repeatedly renders your settings while an effect parameter rises and returns to its starting value. Ink registration separates the two ink screens and is available for the two-ink effect. Color pulse increases your overlay using its current color and blend mode. Contrast pulse increases source contrast.
Your finishing stack stays in the picture
Every frame includes your current base effect, colors and finishing layers. The final palette still runs last. A small palette can hide subtle color motion; try contrast or registration instead. Settings already at their maximum, or a source without useful tonal variation, can produce little visible movement.
Preview size and export format
The animation canvas preserves your image aspect ratio with a maximum long edge of 640 pixels, without enlarging smaller sources. Preview and recording use that same canvas. Pro exports silent WebM, not GIF or MP4. The parameter cycle repeats, but encoding and browser timing can affect the join between playback loops.
Real-time recording
The browser captures the rendered canvas with a target of 24 frames per second. Actual smoothness depends on the effect, source and device. Dense print screens and multiple finishes cost more to render. Closing the panel or hiding the tab cancels recording, with no partial download. A browser with WebM MediaRecorder support is required for export.
Free, Pro and your source files
Processing happens in your browser. Free image exports include 1× and 2× PNG and publish a small preview to the public community gallery. Pro skips gallery publication and adds 3× PNG, SVG and silent WebM video export. Use material you have the rights to upload.
